| The Solo manual 4-gallon 60 psi high-pressure backpack sprayer features an ultraviolet immune tank, felt padded polyester straps, a heavy responsibility pressure cylinder and reversible pump lever. The high pressure backpack sprayer is made of all high-grade, corrosion immune plastic, with no metal or rubber elements made vulnerable to chemicals. The chemical backpack applicator includes a connecting rod actuated piston pump to give rise to a wide pressure range up to 60 psi, 4-foot high pressure hose, a spray tube of 55 cm, and may carry up to 12 pounds. With it is easy operating shut off valve, lasting plastic parts, and 4-1/4-inch opening, it may handle disinfectants, fertilizers, herbicides, and pest control merchandise for effective tree, shrub, and plant protection. This tool is backed by a 1-year fixed manufacturer’s warranty.
Since it is introduction to the US market in 1964, Solo’s standard 425 backpack sprayer has been the standard by which all backpack sprayers are measured. High-density polyethylene tank with ultra-violet inhibitors allows for unmatched durability and ultra-violet protection. Large 4.25-Inch opening for easy filling and cleaning. Shut-off valve and wand with an overall length of 28 inches for hard-to-reach places. 4-foot high-pressure hose. With it is connecting rod-activated piston pump, the 425 is capable of manufacturing a wide pressure range of up to 90-psi, and is capable of performing almost each spraying task. Easily and efficaciously handles disinfectants, fertilizers, herbicides, pesticides, and formulations for tree, shrub and plant shelter and wood and concrete finishing and treatments. Solo backpacks are constructed of high density polyethylene and other chemical immune materials. A 1-year warranty is provided. Given proper maintenance, the sprayer must last for millions of pumps and a great deal of years of use. Each Solo sprayer is equipped with an adjustable, flat spray, hollow cone and jet stream nozzle to accommodate almost each spraying need. Padded straps with pull tabs make adjustments quick and easy. Built-in strainers, screens and filters help keep debris out of nozzles. Pressure may be regulated to 15, 30 , 45 or 60 psi by means of a built-in pressure regulating valve. Unbreakable wand prevents harm mutual to brass and brittle plastic wands. Viton seals, gaskets and O-rings provide magnificent chemical resistance and durability.

 Solo 425: Nice sprayer. One fixable problem!

I bought the solo 425 for organic spraying of pests in my garden. It works great except for one small problem. The backpack straps that came with my solo had straight clips on them that fell off when the sprayer was full. A quick call to SOLO, informed me that the straight clips were crap and they sent me a new pair of redesigned straps right away. Great product great service from solo. I bought this model because a neighbor had one he had been using for 10 years!!! I hope mine lasts that long. Note: The 425 has a piston pump (for liquid additives), the 475 has a diaphragm pump for powdered and / or liquid additives. Make sure you get the one that you need. The only reason the pump did not get 5 stars was my strap problem.

Gets the job done…

I use this sprayer for an orchid collection on my screened patio. I spray fertilizer, insecticides and fungicides with it. It is a huge step up from my old hand held pump sprayer. I would never go back. I like the fact that I can mix up to 4 gallons so I’m not constantly running out of product. It is incredibly easy to use. I’m 6′ tall and pretty strong, I think a smaller person may have trouble getting a full sprayer on their back because it’s heavy. Also the shoulder straps may be too wide apart for a smaller person. Having said that, I’ve been using it for about a year and I recommend it.

Solo 425. The sprayer works great. The harness falls off my shoulders. I would have expected something to prevent this such as a chest strap. I read in the instruction manual that it came with a lumbar support. It didn’t.
